Balloon Penstemon
The Scented Balloon
Most Penstemons are famous for their looks, but Palmer’s Penstemon has the "total package": looks and a heavenly fragrance. These tall, stately spikes carry large, puffy pink flowers that look like little inflated balloons. It’s one of the few scented Penstemons, smelling faintly of grapes or sweet peas. It’s a desert native, so it loves the heat and asks for very little water in return for its spectacular summer show.
